Maybe not so much to temporarily forget but to extract something and strip away and detach all other related aspects to sort of chew on it in a micro-focused way... see what thoughts and questions arise... then re-attach and see if there's more depth to the bigger picture now for having gone through the process.

So Greg, put in other words, it's an effort to temporarily forget the full truth so we can step into the moment of its discover in a fresh way?

Parke,

The part of my post on resurrection was largely a thought experiment/contemplative exercise. Going through it makes 1 Cor 15 all the sweeter for me. It's a wildly extravagant dessert after a sombre dinner.

Viv,

Thanks for your words. So awseome to hear what God is doing in your life!

that's really precious Greg.

I've not been blogging much lately...spending more time at the feet of the Master. Learning, growing...

I've come to realize one thing...those of us who work/volunteer/help at a church can lose the message so quickly. We make an idol of Serving God.

That becomes so dangerous because all he really wants us to see is Him...we get so busy that we don't leave room for Him to speak into our lives..we become so busy 'creating' the ambiance for others.

It sounds like you came face-to-face with Him and that's such a good thing. Don't lose the moment of surrender. If we can learn to live in that every day, regardless of what we do (or don't do), we can be sure that his good purpose will go forth.

The process of truly dying to ourself is something I'm still learning about. It sounds like you've definitely learned something along those lines this past weekend. I hope your week proves a little more restful as you process the experience.

How do you think 1 Corinthians 15 fits into your thoughts on the need for the resurrection?
