E,

deader = more dead. Not sure if that helps at all. I like to make up words that are descriptive or poetic to me... usually at the expense of proper English.

What does deader mean? I'm not English, nor am I a philosopher, and so I am wondering the meaning of the word . . . I teach in a predominantly "minority" school, and am accused by my students of being "racist" constantly. Especially when I ask them to do just about anything. :) It's the first thing that comes out of their mouths. I wonder if the extreme problems that their parents faced when moving to the USA for the first time has added to my kids' sensitivity to the problem. I know that they still face the reality of it daily. I will pray for the lady, and that she can find a peace with knowing that not all white people are racist.

What a story. That is really cool that she actually called you and apologized. Amazing. You actually got to forgive her. Hard stuff.

I'm sure that was a yucky feeling. Sorry, but glad you had a chance to bring it around at the end of the day.
