Just brooding over this concept of excellence today - more a thinking-out-loud/rough-draft/thought experiment than articulating a position… The problem with excellence is that it’s achievable within our own natural capacity and abilities. You can get …

Thanks for the add, Deana. I’m glad I’m here too!
I really need to get bloglines set up for myself. It’s on my to-do list.

Oh, crud. I can’t remember how to get back into my Vox blog. I suppose you can find me easier than I can find myself.
Anyway, good to see you’re alive, Greg.

Thank you kindly, Greg!
Okay, so I was talking with Deana, explaining my strategy to wait till the kinks got worked out of the Vox before posting. Deana so graciously offered, “that’s what the Beta group is for.” Ohhhhhhhhhhh, so I’m the dope.
So, first on my list is to respond to those who graciously welcomed me. Thank you!

Greg,
Glad you checked in. When I heard from you, I had just read your blog to see how your work is going. I had also JUST emailed these words to another friend who’s working way too hard for our broken church: “We are from the future, you know. We’re just incognito for now.” It’s been hard to remember my identity in this season…
We have our first congregational meeting without our pastor on Sunday. The elders are tired, some congregational people are waking from their slumber, and most are putting down their weapons. It’s an easier time to be leading. Up to now, however, has not been fun. I’ve gained weight, lost sleep, and been honest at the wrong times. Looking forward to our small family vacation in February. We squeezed it in to a long weekend with only a couple of days away from school for the kids.
Glad to hear the good news about your support. I’m beginning to remember the future. I can see you in it!
All the best to you,
Michelle

Saw your church sign on the “other” blog that you maintain. Not sure if you’ve seen this blog but it has immense resources. I especially like the face transformer, although, I haven’t seen it there in a while. http://www.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~morph/
Anyway, enjoy keeping in touch in my lurking type of way - maybe we can actually do it in a face-to-face one of these days. (since we do live relatively close….)

Deana,
I was wondering if someone would ask. No it’s not obvious…. sometimes it’s how I see me and sometimes it’s how I want to be seen. You’re welcome to guess but that’s all you’re getting out of me!
Don’t mean to be all enigmatic and mysterious. Just one of those things where I’m fine if people don’t know and I’m fine if people figure it out because everytime I’m on this blog it speaks to me.
Plus some people love a challenge so maybe more people will come to my blog just to try and figure it out!
Of course somebody may guess it in the next 5 minutes and that will be that.
Plus it’s a bit of a blog experiment: Will it catch on? Can you successfully migrate to a new online name in a context where you’ve already established a name you’re known by? Will it just be added to “GreggyD” and “Greg from Winnipeg”… or it will it replace them in the vox realm. These kind of things make me curious. I’m weird that way.

Dug!
Glad to see you… even in a lurking capacity. I’m Beta testing this voxtropolis thing so this will probably be the more current of my 5 blogs for awhile.
How’d your aquarium problem work out?

You must be feeling more creative now.
To respond to your question… it may or may not.
Happy creative thinking!

Viv - nice!
Imagine how spooky it would have been if you had guessed right!!
Deana - that’s not it but I almost like it better than what it really is! I think I might borrow that meaning when I need it to mean that.
